BIOL 360 Microbiology
This course is designed to give the student a strong working knowledge of the microbial world in praxis in medicine, food microbiology, immunology, and research. This course is especially important for those going into health-related fields and environmental sciences. The goal is to stimulate the students to be able to think and discuss biological issues in a logical manner and to question statements that are not founded on factual information. At the end of the course, the student should be able to understand the historical and current role of microbiology in the natural sciences and be competent in culturing and identifying microbes. (Three hours lecture and two hours lab per week.)
