EDUA 5727 Parent Engagement and Common Core
BUILDING PARENT ENGAGEMENT WITH THE COMMON CORE STATE STANDARDS
Parents play an integral role in their children’s education. One of the biggest challenges teachers face is reaching and engaging all parents. This course equips educators with the tools to make parents partners in the education process while implementing the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). The teacher will gain practical strategies and tools to facilitate positive parent involvement and communication while alleviating the tension that often results from instructional and assessment shifts. This course also prepares the teacher to successfully reach parents from varied cultural backgrounds and ethnicities.
