CHEM 107L Caveman Chemistry Lab

Caveman Chemistry explores the discovery, inroduction and application of important chemical technologies into human culture. Through laboritory exercises and lectures students learn how ancient people and natural resources (rocks, clay, sand, ash etc.) to create new materials (pottery, glass, metals, explosives, etc.) that changed history. It is a hands-on, interddisciplinary course designed to help students learn science in the context of human history. Meets the General Education laboratory science requiremet. Two hours lecture and two hours lab each week. (Offered fall semester)
