The Communication department provides students with specialty training in one of two programs: Media Communication or Public Relations. The Media Communication & Public Relations majors lead to the bachelor of arts degree.
Marshall McLuhan famously stated, "Environments are not passive wrappings, but are, rather, active processes which are invisible." In light of this insight, the Greenville University Communication & Media Studies department trains students to see, understand and critique the underlying communication structures and infrastructures that shape the world they live in. Throughout a student's course of study, they will research the theories, skills, and literacies necessary for living in a digital world.
