Art, Bachelor of Arts

The art major requires 48 credits, nine of which must be upper division. Art majors are required to submit a portfolio of their work and have a conference with the art faculty after completion of the basic 15-credit course sequence or its equivalent (ARTD 111, ARTD 112, ARTD 113, ARTD 211, and ARTH 251). All majors will organize and hang a senior exhibition of their work which must meet the approval of the art faculty. The art major leads to the bachelor of arts degree.

Students interested in digital image making should consider taking ARTD/DMDA 230 Type and Image Design, ARTD Digital Photography I , ARTD/DMDA 330 Business Practices in Design, and DMDA 301 Digital Video I as part of their electives.
