Sport Management, Bachelor of Science

There are many career opportunities for those majoring in sport management, such as athletic trainer, athletic director, business development coordinator, facility manager, fitness manager, public relations, and sports agent.  Sport management professionals oversee the business and promotional concerns of athletic organizations and/or athletes.  Studying in this field provides exposure to critical issues in sport such as finance, law, social issues, operations, and event management.

The sport management major requires the completion of 44 credits in business, sport and kinesiology, and digital media.  The curriculum also includes an experiential internship to prepare students to excel in a variety of sport related settings.  The sport management major leads to a bachelor of science degree.

In addition to the major requirements listed above, students will need to complete a general education curriculum and elective courses to earn 120 credits which is mandatory for earning a Greenville University degree.  Details about the general education curriculum can be found in the Academic Information section of this catalog.  Some general education requirements are met through required major courses which reduces the number of required general education credits.  Students should work closely with their advisor to put together an academic plan to make sure all degree requirements are met in a timely manner.
