MATH 1203 College Algebra

The TEL Library College Algebra course provides a comprehensive introduction to the foundations of mathematics typically taught in a traditional college algebra course. This core course develops problem-solving strategies and establishes a firm foundation for higher levels of mathematics. Students will gain practical knowledge by solving and applying equations to real-life situations. They will explore a variety of functions and understand how they are used to model complex phenomena (e.g. polynomial, quadratic, rational, exponential, and logarithmic). Data and trends will be summarized and visualized by creating and implementing graphs. Finally, students will feel empowered with the skills to succeed in math, science, business, and programming. ?This is a three credit-hour course; satisfactory completion of the course requires passing a midterm and a final exam.
