Creative and Performing Arts
This general education requirement helps students recognize the contribution of art and creativity to human life by learning about the creators of art or by creating art themselves.
Students who enter with a A.A. or A.S. degree are not required to complete the Creative and Performing Arts requirement.
Students need to complete a minimum of two credits. Eligible courses are divided into different categories, and any course(s) will fulfill the requirement.
Creative Writing
Transfer courses with similar titles maybe eligible to fulfill this requirement. A syllabus needs to be submitted to the Records Office for evaluation and determination.
Fine Arts
Transfer courses containing a history component in art, music, and/or theatre will be accepted to meet the Creative and Performing Arts requirement.
Performing Arts
Select ensembles offered at Greenville University will fulfill the Creative and Performing Arts requirement. Students may repeat ensembles in order to earn the minimum two credit requirement.
Performing arts (ensemble) courses at other institutions will not transfer in to fulfill the Creative and Performing Arts requirement.
Visual Arts
Transfer courses with similar titles maybe eligible to fulfill this requirement. A syllabus needs to be submitted to the Records Office for evaluation and determination.
