LBST 101 Introduction to Liberal Studies

In this class students will learn about the Liberal Studies degree program and its emphasis on interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary learning.  Students will consider how different disciplines approach scholarship in different ways, using different sources of evidence, tools and skills.  Liberal Studies majors will create a course plan that outlines the courses they will take to complete the Liberal Studies degree.  Students will consider these factors - their prior coursework, interests, personal and career goals, vocational sense of calling and timeline for completing their degree.  They will also create a portfolio that they will maintain throughout their degree program.
