PSYC 317 Grief Counseling

This course will explore the multiple dimensions of grief by familiarizing students with dynamics of loss, bereavement, and normal and atypical/pathological grief.  Emphasis will be placed on understanding the dynamics and process of loss and grief, as well as theories of recovery, including the role of spirituality (i.e. faith), and on developing some basic counseling skills for dealing with grief and loss.
