Master's Degree Requirements

• Fulfill the residency requirement.  75% of the required credits for a Master's degree program must be earned at Greenville University. 
  
  • Greenville University graduate programs may decide to accept graduate coursework completed at another institution towards the fulfillment of program requirements.
  • Greenville University graduate programs may decide to accept up to nine credits numbered 400 or above of required or elective courses from the undergraduate work completed at Greenville University towards fulfillment of degree requirements.  This work is allowed to count towards the 75% graduate course work. 
  • All coursework will appear on the graduate portion of the student transcript but transfer work and undergraduate courses will not count towards the student's graduate GPA.
• Complete graduate level coursework.  75% of the required credits for a Master's degree program can be satisfied only with graduate-level courses (400 and above).  The courses must be designed for graduate work.  Graduate coursework can include Greenville University courses numbered 500 and above as well as 400-699 numbered courses that are specifically designed for graduate students in a graduate program that assess graduate students separately from undergraduate students.

• Submit a graduation application.  Applications are due for December and January graduates by the first day of the fall semester.  May and August graduates must submit their application no later than the first day of the spring semester.  Earlier submission of graduation applications is recommended.
• Earn a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0.  Whereas all coursework taken while enrolled at Greenville University is included in the cumulative GPA, transfer coursework is not calculated into the cumulative GPA.
