Definition of Academic Credit
The credit hour at Greenville University represents an amount of learning equivalent to:
One hour of faculty instruction and two hours of out-of-class student work each week for approximately 15 weeks.
When courses are conducted in less than a 15-week period or in formats without direct, face-to-face instruction, the equivalent amount of work is completed. In such cases, student learning can also be defined at Greenville University by course level or prior learning assessment or more specifically according to the objectives required within each discipline using a variety of delivery methods and measurements of student work.
