Worship Arts, Bachelor of Science
The worship arts major requires the completion of 49-53 credits and leads to a bachelor of science degree.
Worship Arts Requirements
Core Courses
MUSG 100 must be completed every semester.
MUSG 405 must be completed for one credit.
Leadership Track
Applied Lessons (6-8 cr)
- One semester of upper division lessons is required.
- One semester of lessons must be in applied voice, or guitar/piano if a voice major.
- The Worship Accompaniment Jury must be passed by the end of junior year.
Ensemble (3-4 cr)
- A minimum of two semesters must be in Greenville University Choir.
- A minimum of two semesters must be in worship arts ensemble.
Technology Track
MUSG 395 must be completed for two credits.
Applied Lessons (5-7 cr)
- One semester of lessons are required in a secondary instrument.
- Must pass the upper division jury.
Ensemble (2-3 cr)
- Four semesters required
- A minimum of one semester must be in a choral ensemble.
- A minimum of two semesters must be in a worship arts ensemble.
In addition to the major requirements listed above, students will need to complete a general education curriculum and elective courses to earn 120 credits which is mandatory for earning a Greenville University degree. Details about the general education curriculum can be found in the Academic Information section of this catalog. Some general education requirements are met through required major courses which reduces the number of required general education credits. Students should work closely with their advisor to put together an academic plan to make sure all degree requirements are met in a timely manner.
