Educational Studies, Bachelor of Science
The educational studies major provides a course of study for students who have a desire to teach outside of the P12 public school system. This major requires that students complete 56-61 hours of credit. Students who choose this major may want to have a career in museum education, national parks/outdoor education, community education programs, mission/ministry education, or private institutions. Students must choose a concentration. Students completing this major are eligible for the bachelor of science degree.
Students must have a successful criminal background check for participation in field experiences. This program will NOT lead to an Illinois State Teaching License.

In addition to the major requirements listed above, students will need to complete a general education curriculum and elective courses to earn 120 credits which is mandatory for earning a Greenville University degree. Details about the general education curriculum can be found in the Academic Information section of this catalog. Some general education requirements are met through required major courses which reduces the number of required general education credits. Students should work closely with their advisor to put together an academic plan to make sure all degree requirements are met in a timely manner.
