CRJS 271 Culture & Justice: Hip-Hop's Lens
This course offers a unique exploration of the intersections between hip-hop culture, crime, and society. Students will delve into the historical, social, and cultural contexts of hip-hop music, analyzing its portrayal of crime, justice, and its willingness to be a voice for the voiceless. Students will explore the evolution of hip-hop and distinct cultural aspects of key cities contributing to hip-hop culture such as Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Memphis, and New Orleans.
