Class Attendance Policy
Students are expected to attend class regularly and to accept responsibility for all assigned work. To the discretion of the faculty member, students who have been absent from 25% of academic
activity for a course are considered to have failed the course. Students are encouraged to withdraw from a course they are not completing successfully.
- Students who will miss two days of academic activity for personal reasons must get approval from the Chief Academic Officer/VPAA.
- Students who miss class for illness must notify their instructor and request an accommodation through the ADA Coordinator (ada@greenville.edu).
- Classes will be held immediately before and after breaks. Course participation is expected.
- Students who fail to attend a course during the first two weeks of classes (prorated for other terms) may be dropped from the class.
- Face to face courses are required to have a final meeting period for an exam, presentation, or other comprehensive course activity. The final meeting period must meet on the day and hour scheduled. Changes in location and time from the in-class Final Class Meeting Schedule require authorization from the Chief Academic Officer.
Students can petition exceptions to the Class Attendance Policy by submitting an email to the VPAA at vpaa@greenville.edu. The VPAA Office will be responsible for informing Student Accounts, the student, and their faculty of the petition and decision
