Student Account Payment Policy

Greenville University has a clear policy that requires students to pay their account balance in full or enroll in an approved payment plan prior to the beginning of each semester or term of enrollment. Historically, while this expectation has been communicated, specific consequences for non-compliance have not been consistently articulated or enforced.

 To provide clarity and accountability, the following consequences will now be systematically applied for students who have a balance of greater than $1000. 

 

Consequences for Unresolved Student Account Balances

 Timing  Consequence  Oversight Responsibility
 Immediate Students with unpaid balances or no payment plan will be prohibited from participating in extracurricular activities, including athletics.  This includes both practice and competition. Athletic Director (Athletic Extracurriculars) and VP of Enrollment (Non-Athletic Extracurriculars)
 First Day of Classes D2L (Learning Management System) access will be suspended for students who have not resolved their account balance or established a payment plan. CTL Director
Tenth Day of Classes Students with an unresolved balance will be unenrolled from all courses and required to vacate campus housing immediately. AVP Of Student Development

 

Consequences for Defaulting on Payment Plan Twice

Second Default on Payment Plan Students who have defaulted on their payment plan twice are prohibited from participating in extracurricular activities, including athletics.  This includes both practice and competition. Athletic Director (Athletic Extracurriculars) and VP of Enrollment (Non-Athletic Extracurriculars)

 

Key reminders

  • Students are strongly encouraged to resolve outstanding balances before the semester begins to avoid disruptions to their academic progress and campus life.
  • Payment arrangements can be made through the Student Accounts Office.
