FOUNDATIONS OF EFFECTIVE CHEMISTRY INSTRUCTION
This course supports educators in developing a strong foundation for effective chemistry instruction. Explore how chemistry is uniquely taught through sensemaking, modeling, data analysis, phenomena, and multiple representations, while building strategies to support student understanding of matter, energy, and chemical interactions. By examining current trends in chemistry education, you will strengthen content confidence, design coherent and inclusive instruction, investigate lab safety, address misconceptions, and reflect on their own growth as chemistry educators. By the end of the course, you will be prepared to teach chemistry as a connected, engaging, and conceptually rich science rather than a series of isolated facts and procedures.
