ACCT 101 Accounting I

Accounting is much more than calculations and tracking numbers on a spreadsheet. Accounting can be a powerful decision-making tool for individuals and businesses as they assess their financial performance and decide which opportunities to pursue in the future.

This course gives you an introductory overview of the essential terminology and principles in the world of accounting. You’ll learn how to properly record and adjust financial transactions, analyze and evaluate financial performance, and prepare and understand financial statements. By the end of this course, you’ll be able to knowledgeably interpret and discuss financial data with coworkers, and if you’re interested in working in the field, you’ll be able to determine the accounting area in which you might like to pursue a career.
