PSYC 101 Introduction to Psychology

Have you ever wondered why people behave the way they do? Or why you make the choices you make at times? When most people hear the word psychology, they think of mental illness, counseling, and treatment, but psychology is so much more than that. Psychology is the scientific study of human behavior, and understanding its basic principles can help you see the world in a whole new way.

In this course, you’ll examine the theory and science behind psychology and the many subfields that make up the discipline. You’ll explore such topics as the biological basis of behavior, human development, learning, cognition, personality, social psychology, and psychological disorders and treatment methods. By the end of the course, you’ll have a foundational knowledge of psychology that will help you better understand your family, coworkers, total strangers, and even yourself.
