EDUC 529 Early Literacy Skills Instruction

This course will explore methods used to study the process of literacy teaching and learning. Research, best practice and literacy standards are studied to determine effective approaches for teaching. Skills and strategies, in addition to social factors, are discussed to define how early literacy learning influences future reading development. Various forms of assessment data, both quantitative and qualitative, are examined and analyzed for interpretive purposes.
