ENGL 5248 Multicultural U.S. Literature
MULTICULTURAL U.S. LITERATURE
This course will explore multicultural elements of contemporary American Literature through poetry, fiction, and non-fiction by and about members of non-dominant cultural groups within the United States. By focusing on the ways that cultural identity shape both the content and reception of multicultural literature, we will examine how these texts are examples of artistic expression, cultural representation, and the potential they have to develop and bridge our cultural understanding.
