Pre-Nursing with St. John's College
The nursing partnership between Greenville University and St. John's College requires students to follow two institutional catalogs. Students enrolled in Greenville University courses will follow policies in the GU catalog; however, when students are enrolled in St. John's College courses, they will follow the admissions, academic, financial aid, and Bursar policies in SJC's catalog, but the student life policies in GU's catalog.
It is important for Greenville University students know that there are several academic requirements to meet in order to be admitted to St. John's College nursing classes. Students must have a C- or better in all coursework and a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher. The grade and GPA requirements apply to transfer work that may be accepted by Greenville University. A prescribed set of pre-requisite courses must be completed, and an individual courses cannot be repeated more than one time. Please consult the St. John's College catalog for other specific academic and non-academic requirements for admission.
St. John's College students can be members of both GU and SJC organizations and clubs. St. John's would encourage interested nursing students on Greenville's campus to be involved in their student government organization.
All students in this partnership will have access to personal counseling and health services on Greenville's campus.
Students will need to complete a minimum of 121 credits in order to earn their bachelor of science in nursing degree. Sixty-five of those credits will be completed with St. John's College while the other 56 credits will be pre-requisite courses completed at Greenville University or another accredited institution of higher education. Specific pre-requisite courses are needed for admission and are included in SJC's catalog. Students are encouraged to meet with their advisor from both institutions every semester to ensure that they stay on track.
