2023-2024 Graduate Catalog

Participating in Commencement Ceremonies

Degrees are awarded on the last day of the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms. Graduates will receive their diploma in the mail six to eight weeks after their degree has been awarded. A single commencement ceremony is held in May. Students completing graduation requirements in December and January may participate in the upcoming May commencement ceremony. Students completing requirements for graduation in August may participate in the prior May ceremony as long as the following requirements are met:

  1. All degree requirements are complete except for the Capstone course: BUSN 583 or EDUC 583, and
  2. The student has a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.

Students planning to graduate in August who have not met the both criteria will have to wait and participate in the commencement ceremony the following year.

All students are invited to participate in the commencement ceremony. Those who find that they cannot participate must request to graduate in absentia on the graduation application or in writing to the Registrar by April 15th.

All academic requirements and financial obligations must be met to receive a diploma.

Greenville University reserves the right to withdraw a previously awarded degree if the university subsequently determines that the degree requirements were not met appropriately.
