Graduate Program in Business Management
Admissions Requirements
Applicants for the Master of Business Administration or Master of Science must meet the following admission requirements:
- Possess an earned baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution in the US or other recognized institution from another country.
- Be employed or actively involved in a paid or volunteer position that has enough responsibility to be suitable to successfully complete a capstone project.
- Have a minimum grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in the last 60 hours of undergraduate work
- Submit an up-to-date resume or curriculum vitae
- Submit a writing sample.
- Submit official transcripts from all academic institutions attended.
- Complete and submit the program application form.
Additional MBA Requirements: The Briner School of Business Master of Business Administration Admissions Committee will review the following criteria as it strives to take a holistic view of the applicant in order to determine the likelihood of success in the Master of Business Administration Program. Applicants must also meet one of the following criteria:
- A minimum of twelve (12) undergraduate credit hours with a minimum grade of "B" in any of the following: Accounting, Finance, Statistics, and/or Economics, OR
- A Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) score indicating sufficient aptitude for success in an MBA program, OR
- An earned Master's degree from a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting body, OR
- A minimum of two years of significant, substantive managerial/leadership experience and/or sufficient strengths in both quantitative and qualitative skills that may be evidenced through resume review and/or applicant interview.
Final decisions are made by the Briner School of Business Master of Business Administration Admissions Committee.
International Admissions
International students must meet an English Proficiency Admissions Requirement. Students whose native language is not English must achieve a score of 550 or above on the paper-based TOEFL, 88 on the internet-based exam, or 230 on the computer-based exam. Official TOEFL scores must be mailed to the Admissions Office before students can be considered for acceptance.
Transferring Credits
Students can petition to transfer up to 9 credit hours of comparable coursework toward the degree. The coursework cannot have been a part of the student’s undergraduate degree.
