2020-2021 Undergraduate Catalog

Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Engineering

Students are required to have a minimum overall GPA of 2.75 and a minimum major GPA of 2.75 in order to be eligible to take upper-division engineering courses.  Students who do  not meet these criteria may appeal to the dean.  The engineering faculty, by a majority vote, may grant exceptions to these requirements.  If granted, the student must maintain a semester GPA of 2.75 in order to stay in the engineering major.  After successfully meeting a semester GPA of 2.75 for two consecutive semesters, the GPA restrictions will no longer be applied.

The engineering major requires the completion of 88 credits and leads to a bachelor of science in engineering degree.

Students must have a minimum of 45 credits with an ENGR prefix in order to complete the BSE degree.

In addition to the major requirements listed above, students will need to complete a general education curriculum and elective courses to earn 120 credits which is mandatory for earning a Greenville University degree.  Details about the general education curriculum can be found in the Academic Information section of this catalog.  Some general education requirements are met through required major courses which reduces the number of required general education credits.  Students should work closely with their advisor to put together an academic plan to make sure all degree requirements are met in a timely manner.

The outcomes for this program can be found on the Greenville University Institutional Assessment webpage.
