2.10.1 : Attendance Policy

A Greenville University education is not complete without spiritual formation. Spiritual formation is not solely an intellectual or individual activity, rather it is communal and participatory. Therefore, all students, whether living on campus or off, must attend and meet the required 10 TWE credits and 10 Spiritual Formation (SF) credits at the end of each semester. Some student’s scholarship may require additional TWE and SF credits. Talk with your scholarship program coordinator for additional details.

The only exception to this is the students who have applied for and received exemption. Students must apply for exemption within the first three weeks of each new semester. Email the University Chaplain to receive an exemption form or with questions about the exemption policy.

There will be checkpoint on credit progress at midterms each semester. Checkpoints are designed to help students manage their attendance throughout the semester and ensure that they are on track to complete their attendance requirements. If a student is not on track to meet the attendance requirements, a student will be notified via email and receive follow up from a Community Life staff member.  It is ultimately each student’s responsibility to monitor their TWE and SF credits. Students can check their progress at any time by logging into my.greenville.edu or by emailing the University Chaplain.
