2.6.2 : Overview of the Formal Disciplinary Process
When a member of the Greenville University community is alleged to have committed a violation of the code of conduct, an incident report is generated. The incident report is submitted to the Director of Community Standards and Campus Safety. After reviewing the incident, the Director of Community Standards assigns the case to the proper investigative authority based on the seriousness of the alleged offense. When a student is contacted about a potential violation of the student code of conduct, they are notified of their right to have their case heard by administrative hearing with the assigned official or through a Judicial Hearing Board. Once the case is adjudicated by either the conduct hearing officer or Judicial Hearing Board, the student is notified of the outcome as well as any potential sanctions. The student then has the option of appealing their outcome/sanctions to a board of appeal.
