2.6.2.2 : Assignment
After an incident report is created, the incident report is assigned to the proper conduct hearing officer based on the below Tier System. The conduct charges listed below are only as an example and the list is not meant to be exhaustive. The tier an incident falls into may change based on facts, evidence, and circumstances surrounding an incident.
Tier 1 Cases: Typically assigned to Resident Directors
· Cohabitation
· Improper Visitation
· Room Damages
· Propping Doors
· Roommate Conflict
· Quiet Hours
· Window
· Self-Harm
· Immodest/Improper display of affection
· Minor Injury/Illness
· Slander
· Littering
· Disorderly Conduct
Tier 2 Cases: Typically assigned to the Director of Community Standards and Campus Safety
· Any Tier 1 violations in which an Assistant Resident Director, or Resident Assistant is alleged to have committed the violation
· 1st time alcohol, illegal, or illicit drug offense
· Repeated Tier 1 violations
· Indecent Conduct
· Reckless Behavior
· Fire
· Theft
· Fighting
· Concerning or Threatening Behavior
· Repeated Tier 2 violations
Tier 3 Cases: Typically assigned to the Dean of Students
· Any Tier 2 violations in which an Assistant Resident Director, or Resident Assistant is alleged to have committed the violation
· Any violation involving a Resident Director
· Assault
· Criminal Activity
· Stalking
· Hazing
· Distribution of Illegal/Illicit Drugs
· Weapons
