ENGL 105 Composition II

Writing is more than putting words on paper. It is a skill, a craft, an art—and it can be learned with practice. This course builds on the basic writing skills you already have and takes you step by step through the writing process so that you can achieve your writing goals with confidence.

In this course, you will explore how to make a solid academic argument as well as how to locate and use credible sources to support the claims you make. We will examine the structure and mechanics of writing, including how to form a thesis, organize ideas clearly and effectively, and use documentation styles such as MLA and APA. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to craft a well-written, research-based essay that clearly expresses your thoughts and persuades others to see your point of view.
