Employee Personnel Records

Employee files are maintained by the Human Resource Department. Personnel files are the property of the University, and access to the information they contain is restricted. Generally, only supervisors and management personnel of the University who have a legitimate reason to review information in a file are allowed to do so. 

Employees who wish to review their own file should contact the Human Resources Department. Personnel file access by current employees and former employees upon request will generally be permitted within seven working days after the request. Personnel files are to be reviewed in the Human Resource department. Personnel files may not be taken outside the department.

Representatives of government or law enforcement agencies, in the course of their duties, may be allowed access to file information.
