Suggested Field Experience Activities
Teachers that participate as mentors for our program will allow students to be an active part of the classroom. Students will engage in one-on-one or small group activities anytime they are needed. Students will also prepare lesson plans and present them after the mentors’ approval.
The field experience teacher will receive a field experience packet that is specific to the course for assistance. This will allow the classroom teacher to be familiar with the educational level of development for the pre-service teacher as well as the instruction they are receiving on campus. Through this proposed activity plan, the mentoring teacher and our students can gain maximum benefit from their visits. The Field Experience Teacher is encouraged to contact the student’s professor any time there is a need, problem, or question regarding their participation in the experience.
