EDUT 5387 Creating Inclusive Classrooms for All Learners

CREATING INCLUSIVE CLASSROOMS FOR ALL LEARNERS

Ready to reimagine your classroom as a place where every student feels seen, valued, and capable of success? In this course, you’ll explore how culturally responsive teaching helps educators affirm the strengths students bring from their homes and communities. You’ll learn about the process of language acquisition and gain strategies, such as translanguaging, to support your students as they learn English. To meet the needs of students with disabilities, you will design lesson structures using the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework and implement supports like scaffolding and differentiation to ensure students meet learning targets. You’ll also discover how AI-powered tools can help personalize instruction and improve accessibility. At the completion of the course, you will be better equipped to respond to the needs of all learners—including those with disabilities and varied linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Whether you're just beginning or ready to deepen your practice, this course will spark fresh ideas, purposeful changes, and meaningful growth.
