More than 7 million students receive special education services each year in the United States. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) currently leads special education programming, and a detailed understanding of this law can ensure that educators are able to apply the elements to support students with disabilities. Throughout this course, you’ll navigate the multitudes of special education vocabulary, the specific disability categories covered under IDEA, and create a stronger understanding of Individual Education Programs (IEPs), 504 plans and legislation that has shaped special education today! This course will help you implement programming to ensure students are supported and successful in school!
