Greenville University is comprised of faculty members who fall within three principal colleges:

  • The College of Arts and Sciences is composed of faculty in the following academic disciplines: Mathematics, Engineering, English, Spanish, History, Music, Theology, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • The College of Social Sciences and Education is composed of faculty in the following academic disciplines: Education, Psychology, Social Work, and Criminal Justice.
  • The College of Professional Studies is composed of the faculty in the following academic disciplines: Accounting, Agribusiness, Business Management, Marketing, Digital Media, Organizational Leadership, and Exercise Science and Sports Management.

The university encourages representation on and communication among different committees. As such, GU espouses the notion of shared governance. To this effect, each school is represented in standing committees. Within each school there are designated departments with an appointed department chair or director. The department chair or director meets twice a month with the Office of Academic Affairs to work collegially on items, per the by-laws, that faculty either oversee or provide recommendations.

Where necessary, reorganizing academic structures will be a faculty led activity shared with the administration.
