Bereavement

(Faculty and Regular Full-Time Employees)

The University provides up to three days leave with pay upon the death in an eligible employee’s immediate family. An employee who wishes to take time off due to the death of an immediate family member should notify his or her supervisor immediately. A copy of the funeral notice must be sent to the office of Human Resources.

For the purposes of this policy, immediate family is defined as spouse, parent, step-parent, grandparent, spouse’s grandparent, child, step-child, grandchild, sibling, mother-in-law, father- inlaw, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law.
