Flexible Spending Account-FSA- Health and Dependent Care
(Faculty and Regular Full-Time Employees)
The University offers two Flexible Spending Account Programs:
1. The Health FSA allows employees electing the Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) health insurance option to set aside pre-tax salary dollars to pay for qualified medical expenses, including medical or dental insurance deductibles, copayments, and out of pocket costs for vision and other types of care.
2. The Dependent Care FSA allows employees to set aside pre-tax salary dollars to pay for child or dependent care.
Participation in the FSA is optional and determined on an annual basis. Employees who wish to participate must enroll during the specified enrollment period each year. Participating employees determine how much to contribute, up to a specified maximum. Since any amount remaining in your FSA account at the end of the year is forfeited, care must be taken not to overfund your account.
