COBRA-Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985

(Faculty and Regular Full-Time Employees)

Under COBRA, employees and their dependents may have the right to continue health insurance coverage in certain instances where coverage under the plan would otherwise end (e.g., termination of employment, reduction in hours, etc.). Employees are provided with an initial notice of COBRA rights at the time of hire. Under COBRA, the employee or beneficiary pays the full cost of coverage at the University’s group rates plus an administration fee
