2.8.38 : Refrigerators and Microwaves

To prevent overloading the electrical circuits, students may only use refrigerators no larger than 4.0 cubic feet and microwaves should not exceed 18 inches wide, 13.5 inches deep, and 11 inches high. Microwaves are discouraged due to the presence of a microwave in a lounge or kitchen in all residence halls. These appliances if present must be connected directly to an outlet. Use of a power strip or extension cord with these appliances creates a fire hazard and is prohibited.
