Administrative Support

The administration will make it a priority to expand resources for professional development, (e.g., Professional Improvement Allowance, professional development grants, sabbaticals, Faculty
Development Committee budget).

Administrative support would be demonstrated by but not limited to the Following ways:

1.The University will provide increasing support for replacement of faculty during sabbaticals, beginning with at least half- funding (i.e., paying for outside replacement of at least half the load) and moving expeditiously to full funding.

2.The Professional Improvement Allowance will be available for professional needs at the faculty
member’s discretion, allowing more flexibility of application of those funds.

3.The PIA will be increased regularly. The professional development grants will be reinstated.
