Trauma-Informed Teaching in Early Childhood
This course is a warm hug around a topic that is difficult to embrace. Early childhood educators will explore everything from how to define trauma, to determining the meaning behind students’ behaviors in the classroom. Learn how children’s cognitive, language, physical, and social-emotional development are impacted by trauma, and load up on an armful of strategies to make students’ lives better and more manageable. Uncover how trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices make us better educators, and study ways to respond when our youngest students express their experiences.
