EDUA 5301 Building Elementary Math Curriculum

BUILDING AN EFFECTIVE ELEMENTARY MATHEMATICS CURRICULUM
This course is designed to help teachers in elementary school (grades K-6) develop a strong and robust mathematics curriculum. The course is intended for teachers who would like to strengthen their math programs, whether by changing what they teach or by altering how they teach it, but are not certain what steps will be most beneficial. The course addresses issues such as differentiation, selection of activities, diverse learning styles, communication, authentic understanding, and the connection between standards and instruction. By the end of the course, the teacher will be better prepared to offer his or her students a cohesive and cutting-edge math curriculum with compelling activities and effective teaching strategies.
