CREATING A COOPERATIVE LEARNING CLASSROOM
Cooperative learning encourages students to work together to maximize their own and one another’s learning. Structured well, it helps students learn to work together more effectively. Cooperation offers not just a way of learning, but a positive way of life.
This course provides the teacher an in-depth exploration of the cooperative learning approach along with tools for integrating cooperative learning into all aspects of a teacher’s practice. The teacher will learn to transform his or her curricular design, teaching strategies, classroom environment, classroom management, and assessments through the use of cooperative learning to improve student learning and engagement.
