EDUA 5112 Art & Drawing in Elementary

INTEGRATING ART AND DRAWING INTO THE ELEMENTARY CURRICULUM
Drawing is a great way to convey thoughts, ideas, and emotions that often cannot otherwise be expressed. In today’s classrooms drawing is rarely used as a tool for learning, even though it is a highly effective technique for increasing academic achievement. Integrating drawing into the general education curriculum often allows non-traditional learners to achieve academically at higher levels.

This course is for elementary school general education and art teachers who would like to incorporate drawing into curricular projects and activities. In this course, the teacher will learn how to draw, or improve their fundamental drawing skills, as well as how to teach students to develop their technical drawing skills. Additionally, the teacher will learn unique techniques for using drawing to reach special education and at-risk students and tools for integrating drawing across the curriculum.
