EDUA 5513 Teaching Golf From 40 Yards In

TEACHING GOLF: FROM 40 YARDS IN
As the sport of golf grows in popularity with America’s youth, coaches are seeking new and improved strategies to enhance their golfers’ skills and techniques. One area of golf instruction that is often overlooked is the short game. Many young people enjoy going to the golf range, grabbing a bucket of balls and working on their swing, but many fail to master the skills necessary to be successful from 40 yards in. Students need explicit instruction and regular practice in putting, chipping, and bunker play to improve their short play.

This course provides the golf coach with the strategies and tools necessary to effectively teach golf’s short game. The coach will learn how to teach putting, chipping, and bunker play while gaining meaningful insight from professional golfers Phil Mickelson, Jim Furyk, and Fred Funk. As a result, the coach will be able to plan lessons that fine-tune the skills necessary to be successful from 40 yards in.
