EDUA 5604 Supporting Children with ADD/ADHD

STRATEGIES FOR SUPPORTING CHILDREN WITH ADD/ADHD

This course describes the characteristics of ADD/ADHD and their impact on children. The teacher will learn specific identification, intervention, and support strategies for a host of ADD/ADHD characteristics that interfere with a student’s academic and personal success. In addition, the teacher will recognize that teaching children with ADD/ADHD poses unique challenges, and learn how to cultivate a healthy mindset for best working with these students. After finishing the course, the teacher will be equipped with a robust set of best practices for helping ADD/ADHD students manage their behavior, improve their social skills, and succeed academically.
