EDUA 5323 How the Weather Works

HOW THE WEATHER WORKS
The weather affects every one of us, every day, yet many students do not understand how various climatic patterns are formed and how they create the weather. This course familiarizes the teacher with elements of the Earth’s weather and climate, from the all-powerful role of the Sun to the impact of extreme weather such as tornadoes and hurricanes.

After taking this course, teachers will be equipped with the knowledge to teach their students about the conditions that create a host of weather types, and the "life cycle" of weather events such as heat waves and snowstorms. They will also be able to analyze their local weather, including extreme weather, in order to give students a broader perspective on their region and tools to understand the scientific basis of the weather they experience every day.
