EDUA 5453 Teaching Writing in Content Areas
PREPARING STUDENTS FOR COLLEGE: TEACHING WRITING ACROSS CONTENT AREAS
This course is the study of the methods and materials that are best-suited for teaching writing in the content areas to prepare students for college-level writing. Teachers will be introduced to theories of teaching writing across content areas. Participants will evaluate and discuss best practices for teaching content area writing for subject areas such as English Language Arts, Fine Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies, and the creation of an artifact that will support teaching the concepts of preparing students to write in college across the content areas.
