EDUA 5550 Using Instructional Models in PE

SPORTS AND GAMES: USING INSTRUCTIONAL MODELS IN P.E.
The days of uninspired and unorganized play are over! No longer will you have to struggle to identify ways to meaningfully engage your students in standards-aligned PE activities.

This course includes strategies for identifying competency-based, goal-oriented games that are appropriate for K-12 physical education, as well as tools for assessing students as they develop a lifelong interest in fitness. In addition to reviewing instructional approaches like direct instruction, the Sport Education Model, and Teaching Games for Understanding, you will have a chance to examine assessment strategies that work well and engage students meaningfully in PE. By the end of the course, you will be able to design and implement authentic activities that meet the learning needs and interests of all your students.
