STAYING PRESENT: MINDFULNESS FOR BETTER TEACHING AND LEARNING
In the midst of rigorous standards-based instructional practices, the necessity to slow down and “be present” in the classroom has become increasingly relevant.

Mindfulness is a set of techniques that help individuals pay attention to their thoughts, emotions, and sensations. Applying mindfulness in the classroom has proven to increase the quality of student and teacher interactions and improve emotional self-regulation. Both of these factors lead to better teaching and learning.

Throughout this course, you will develop a diverse set of mindfulness strategies that you can implement into your daily routine. In just minutes a day, you and your students can participate in exercises that help center your body, mind, and spirit, while managing stressful encounters.

Using the tools from this course, you will be able to create an energized, interconnected, and kind classroom culture where every member is engaged, motivated, and passionate about learning.
